The House System: Building a Stronger School Community
The House System is a traditional feature of many schools, which originated in the UK, fostering camaraderie, collaboration, and leadership. At DBS, the House System is designed to instill a sense of belonging, encourage participation in school life, and create opportunities for leadership and teamwork across all year groups.
Students’ well-being is assured through fostering a happy, safe and purposeful environment, providing each child with the skills and opportunities to develop confidence, self-motivation, independence and a positive self-image.

What is the House System?
The House System provides an opportunity for all students to be part of a smaller community within the school. It helps develop a student’s sense of identity and belonging, and encourages students to work together across age groups to build school spirit.
Rewards and Points System
Students at DBS participate in numerous sporting, musical, academic and team-building House events throughout the year. All students have the opportunity to gain House Points for commitment to all areas of school life.
All House Points gained go towards the ultimate accolade of winning the annual House Point Shield. In sport, all achievements go towards winning the coveted House Sports Shield.

House Leaders
At DBS Denla British School, House Leaders play an important role in promoting school spirit, teamwork, and leadership. Selected from the Upper School, they act as role models and help lead House events, support peers, and build a positive House culture. This role gives students the chance to develop key life skills such as communication, collaboration, and responsibility, while making a meaningful contribution to school life.
House Events
House Events are a lively part of DBS school life, uniting students across year groups through fun and friendly competition. From sports and academic contests to performances and charity drives, these events promote teamwork, creativity, and House pride. They help build a strong sense of belonging and encourage students to develop their talents while living out the values of leadership and collaboration.
