DBS Shines with Global Recognition for School and Teachers

DBS Denla British School is proud to celebrate a series of prestigious achievements that reflect our commitment to academic excellence, inspiring teaching, and a culture of care.

At the World Science Championship 2024, DBS was honoured with the Best School Award, a recognition of our unwavering dedication to educational excellence and our leadership in global academic initiatives. Adding to this success, Mrs Samantha Cronin, Head of Science, received the Best Teacher Award – International Level for her inspiring vision, leadership, and commitment that empowered our students to excel on the world stage.

Our celebrations continue with another outstanding recognition: Polly Neville, Head of Section for Years 5 and 6, has been named the Best in Class – Regional Winner for Southeast Asia & Pacific in the Cambridge Dedicated Teacher Awards 2025, organised by Cambridge University Press & Assessment.

The Cambridge Dedicated Teacher Awards honour educators who make a lasting difference in their students’ lives. Each year, thousands of nominations are submitted by grateful students, parents, and colleagues from around the world. From these, a panel of judges selects nine regional winners, with one global winner chosen by public vote.

Polly was nominated by a parent for her unwavering dedication to student wellbeing and her creation of the Friday Friends Club—a weekly space where children explore empathy, communication, and emotional resilience. Through her pastoral leadership, she ensures every child feels seen, heard, and valued, making a lasting impact on their growth and confidence.

These global recognitions highlight what makes DBS exceptional: a community where teachers lead with heart, students thrive with confidence, and together, we achieve with care.
