Miss Kennett has a passion for building strong relationships with her students and creating a dynamic, supportive and exciting learning environment. She studied Business and Human Resource Management at Sheffield Hallam University before deciding to move to China to teach English as a second language where she found her love for teaching. Upon her return to England, she did a PGCE in Teaching and Learning where she was awarded an ‘Outstanding’ grade and has 4 years experience of teaching in Key Stage 2 in Devon, England. Miss Kennett is entering her fourth year of teaching at DBS and is excited to take on her new role as Deputy Head of Year 5 & 6.
She is very much enjoying working with Year 6 students and being part of their learning journey. She wishes to inspire children to always try their best, take pride in their learning and enjoy sharing their successes with others. Her aim is for the children in her class to always come to school with a positive attitude, excited for the day of learning ahead. Outside school, Miss Kennett’s passion is horse riding and she has represented the Cayman Islands, where she grew up, in international show jumping and dressage competitions. She enjoys keeping fit and can be found most evenings doing workout classes.
