DBS Denla British School is thrilled to celebrate an extraordinary year of achievements in the World Scholars’ Cup (WSC), marking another milestone in our journey of excellence.
As proud hosts of the Bangkok Skittles, Regional, and Global Rounds in 2024, DBS welcomed thousands of bright young minds from across the globe to our campus. This prestigious partnership will continue in 2025, as we are honoured to host both the Regional and Global Rounds once again, underscoring our strong collaboration with the WSC.

Our students’ performances this year have been nothing short of exceptional, with remarkable successes across all stages of the competition:
Skittles Round: Champions in the Team Challenge, Writing, and Scholars Bowl.
Junior Regionals: Winners of the Team Challenge, second place in Team Debate, and third place in Individual Debate.
Global Round: Fifth place in the Global Challenge and second place in Southeast Asia, with seven students qualifying for the prestigious Tournament of Champions (TOC) at Yale University.

At the TOC, held at Yale University, DBS achieved its best results to date:
- One of our teams was ranked #1 in Thailand, #2 in Southeast Asia, and #8 globally out of more than 300 competing teams.
- Lene (Year 10) secured an impressive 7th place overall, competing against over 1,000 participants.
- Every participating student returned with a personal record of medals, reflecting their dedication and hard work.

Mr Jonny Liddell, Headmaster of DBS, expressed his pride in the school’s achievements:
“The outstanding success of our students in the World Scholars’ Cup is a reflection of their dedication, talent, and passion for learning. It also highlights the strength of our community—students, staff, and parents—working together to achieve extraordinary things. At DBS, we always ask ourselves, ‘Is this the best that things can be?’ and this year, our scholars have shown us that the answer is a resounding yes.”

These achievements stand as a testament to the resilience, talent, and commitment of our students, supported by the unwavering guidance of their teachers, including Mr Stephen Roche and Miss Holly Newson, as well as their mentors and parents. The joy and pride radiating from this success truly embodies the DBS spirit.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all our students and staff for making this year an unforgettable chapter in the history of DBS. Together, we demonstrate our shared passion for learning and our steadfast commitment to “Always to Greater Things.”
