Mr Alex Duncan

Mr Alex Duncan was fortunate to attend Dulwich College in London before pursuing a degree in Geography at Bath Spa University. His academic journey deepened his appreciation for the subject and laid the foundation for a long and rewarding career in education.

With over 22 years of teaching experience, Mr Duncan is proud to serve as the Head of Humanities at DBS. His previous roles have included Head of Geography and Scholarship Co-ordinator at Marlborough College Malaysia, Boarding Housemaster at Shiplake College in the UK, Head of Year at Thomas Hardye School, and Geography Teacher at Lavington School. Across these roles, the most fulfilling aspect has always been seeing students thrive—academically, pastorally, and through sport.

Outside the classroom, Mr Duncan is a passionate (though ageing!) football and rugby player. He is also a qualified rugby referee and enjoys giving back to a sport that has given him so much. In his spare time, he enjoys travel, culture, and food—ideally all at once.
