DBS Denla British School is located in the central Thai province of Nonthaburi that lies to the northwest of Bangkok, in the Chao Phraya River basin. The school will initially enroll students aged 2 – 15 (Pre-EY to Year 11); we will then extend into a complete through-school for students up to 18 years of age (Year 13). Using the history, traditions and track record of the UK independent school sector as our model, DBS is structured in the following way:
• Pre-Prep: Pre-EY – Year 2
• Prep: Year 3 – Year 8
• Senior: Year 9 – Year 13
Our vision is “to Nurture Global Leaders” and to provide an inspiring and caring environment in which students develop a lifelong passion for learning and fulfill their unique potential.
Our curriculum is grounded in the National Curriculum for England, and enhanced by an all-encompassing school day and our holistic vision for learning. We emphasise the importance of academic rigour, whilst also recognising that learning is not the sole domain of the classroom.
Our co-curricular progamme of activities is therefore central to each student’s learning journey at DBS. During a regular day at school, for instance, students might find themselves calculating mathematical equations, practising a musical piece by Chopin, and participating in a debating competition. We believe that our enhanced curriculum will cultivate increased engagement, motivation, and enjoyment for students.
The benefits of this approach to learning are felt not just by our students but also by our teaching team. Joining our founding team at DBS will be enjoyable, challenging and hugely fulfilling. As a founding teacher, you will not only make a positive impact to your students’ academic progress but also engage in our co-curricular progamme, providing all children with an extremely rounded education and helping to build a strong sense of community at DBS.
Our new school campus extends across 18 acres. The state of the art, purpose built buildings have been designed by leading industry architects to
provide inspirational teaching and learning environments and students of all ages with access to an array of premium facilities.
The first phase programme will constitute the main primary school buildings, which will house a superb range of specialist facilities including: a school of music and performing arts; a studio theatre; schools of creative arts; and a school of science and technology.
The impressive sports facilities are also delivered as part of the first phase. The indoor facilities include; a dedicated primary indoor 25m pool, with an integrated 12m learner pool; a large primary sports hall; and dance and fitness studios. The outdoor sports facilities include a 400m running track, junior and senior soccer pitches, and a four court tennis academy.
The senior school buildings will be delivered in the second phase of works and have been planned to include an equally impressive array of specialist teaching and learning spaces that will promote the most contemporary methods of curriculum delivery. These facilities will allow the school to offer amongst the widest range of subjects of any international school in the region and will promote innovation, creativity, study and collaboration.
