Medical Care

The Medical Centre is staffed throughout the school day by three school nurses. All parents are asked to make a full medical declaration before their child’s admission to DBS. Parents are also asked to sign a consent form giving permission to administer emergency first aid and non-prescription drugs. Prescribed medicines are given only to the student to whom they are prescribed. All members of staff who routinely deal with students are made aware of those students who have potentially life-threatening conditions. Parents will be contacted if the staff have any medical concerns regarding their child.

Health Education and the promotion of healthy lifestyles are an important part of the work of the Medical Centre. The nurses are happy to talk to students on any aspect of health.
