Richard graduated from Newcastle University having read Economics and Accounting and then became a British Army officer for eleven years leaving as a Major. During this time, he travelled extensively and worked in a very international context with many armies from different countries. He spent a great deal of this time as an Instructor and therefore made the change to teaching.
Richard’s first appointment was at an IB and A-Level independent school in the UK teaching Economics and he led the service programme. After this, he moved to Harrow International School Bangkok as a Boarding House Master, Head of House and Business and Economics teacher. After six years at Harrow, he moved to DBS. He remains passionate about developing people and strongly believes that school should equip you with both the confidence and competence to be a lifelong learner with a global mindset.
Richard is married with two children, both of whom are at DBS. He is a keen diver, reader and has a strong interest in all things related to Finance, Business and Economics.
