Mrs Mary Bridges | Head of Prep School

Mary is the Head of Prep School, bringing her extensive leadership experience from St Michael’s Prep School in England. Every stage of Mary’s career has reflected her passion for Teaching and Learning, willingness to embrace challenges and commitment to achieving success.

She started her career as a contemporary dance teacher and inspired students to achieve highly at GCSE and A-Level. This led to a position as an Advanced Skills Teacher, passing on her skills to teachers and students across the UK. She then became a Head of Sixth Form and relished the opportunity to enable growth and development across a whole school curriculum. This paved the way for Mary’s leadership position as Deputy Head at St Michael’s Prep School, where she later became Acting Head, leading the school through the first Covid-19 lockdown and ensuring that the community stayed connected and engaged.

Mary wants to ensure that our students, and staff, are committed to achieving throughout their lives, in whatever capacity this may be.

Mary is married to Ben Bridges, who also works at DBS as Head of PE. They share a passion for running and travel the world competing in Half Marathons and Marathons. Their beloved border collie dog, Winnie, is also joining them in Thailand. Mary believes passionately in having a positive attitude to life and always wants to be inspired and inspire others.
