Vocal Recital

On 3 May 2023, our Year 9 and 10 GCSE Music students were treated to a vocal recital by two of our talented Music department staff members, Mr Gower and Miss Mayo. The recital was a delightful mix of classical and modern pieces, showcasing the versatility and range of our performers, who apart from being inspiring educators, are musicians of the highest calibre in their own right.

The repertoire that was presented at the recital was highly relevant to our GCSE Music students, with set works and wider listening pieces from their Vocal Music area of study being presented by Mr Gower, accompanied by Miss Mayo on the piano. To be able to hear these pieces performed live in a professional setting provided our students with a valuable opportunity to deepen their understanding and appreciation of the music, as well as to witness firsthand the technical and artistic skills required for such performances
