The Art and Design and Design & Technology departments have collaborated to provide each student from Y4 upwards with customized creative packs, each one filled with a diverse range of carefully selected materials and resources. Our students have each received a personalised bundle of resources that will support them in bringing a whole term’s worth of beautiful creative projects to life, whether during distance learning or when we are back in school.Also, our Y10 and Y11 students who are studying IGCSE Art and Design and/or Design & Technology can be confident that they now have all the materials which, along with the outstanding teaching they are receiving, will help them to flourish in their studies and aid them in producing high quality coursework.
“Every creative child is unique, and that’s why we have created learning packs to best reflect this. Art material stores can be intimidating. Unfamiliarity with the materials can lead to a reluctance to spend on tools that we might not use again. We are here to help and we believe that each pack will enable the rich, tactile experiences that have been sorely missed during this period of online learning. Art-making can be filled with uncertainty. As caretakers of children, it is our job to remove any sense of fear that might lead to a lack of confidence in the creative process,” said Mr Paron Mead, Head of Art at DBS who has led this Art Pack project.
