On Saturday 5th October, Year 9 students travelled to the Khlong Toey Music Programme (KTMP), to participate in the first session of the DBS/KTMP Songwriting Project. KTMP is an organisation providing free Music, Art and English lessons for underprivileged children in Bangkok. The aim of the project of is for students from both organisations to write and record a song together, which will be released later this year. In the morning session students worked together on writing lyrics based on the theme of “What Music Means to Me”. Everyone involved was struck by the beautiful lyrics and ideas the students devised, and by the thoughtful and mature way they approached the project. We are very much looking forward to hearing the final song later this month.
