‘DBS Cares’ – an Annual Event to Celebrate DBS Core Values and Share Kindness with Families, Friends, and Local Communities.

The DBS community celebrated ‘DBS Cares’. This is an annual event when we celebrate values such as kindness, caring, gratitude etc and recognise the benefits for everyone when practising these values.
 
Even though we are in the Distance Learning period, we can still celebrate and share kindness together. Students across the school participated in various acts of kindness, from helping one another to revise, to writing thank you cards to people who look after us. Other activities involved helping around the house, washing up and making beds.
 
We have also practised kindness in collaboration with institutions.
 
The Rainbow House Exercise Room
Thanks to the whole DBS Community and particularly the DBS Charity Team for their hard work, we have raised funds to create an exercise room at Rainbow House. It is nearly finished, and we look forward to it opening very soon!

The DBS Buddy Bench
As part of ‘DBS 5’, we created a ‘DBS heart’ out of bottle tops. With the funds raised from this, we built a “Buddy Bench”. The idea behind this is if someone is feeling sad or lonely, they can go and sit on the buddy bench. Other children will then know they need someone to play with and can go and talk to them and include them in their games.
 
Over the last few weeks, the DBS Community has been collecting used, good quality items for Second Chance Bangkok – a social enterprise creating Second Chances for the people of the Klong Toey community. They Re(up)cycle, Reuse and Renew any donations.
 
We are thrilled by the generosity of the DBS Community in supporting this project.
