Learning about the Olympic Games through the “DBS Potato Olympics”.

The Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games has officially ended, but the Olympic Games at DBS has only just begun. Our Y3/4 teachers created a fun-filled week of “DBS Potato Olympics”, to get the students excited about online learning while also experiencing the thrills of the Olympics. 

The purpose of the DBS Potato Olympics was to give students an understanding of the beauty of the Olympic games, but unlike the real Olympics, Potato Olympians were able to compete in all events. Students were free to use their imagination to recreate the different sporting events, so there was no limit to their creativity!

Our Y3/4 students worked so hard in setting up and competing in each event; also filming interviews with the medal winners. Their potatoes have some bruises, scrapes and pulled muscles, but what else would you expect with such a strenuous and wonderful activity like the DBS Potato Olympics!
