Traveling the World to find DBS in Computing Class

Staying at Home But Travelling the world! Even though we have been learning at home this week, our Y3 and Y4 students have been on a worldwide adventure in Computing class. Mrs Hall showed them how much fun it can be to explore new places using the Apple Maps App and invited them to choose anywhere in the world that they would like to visit or have visited in real life. They learnt how to use Search to find places and how to pinch to zoom in and out to discover what it is like there.

They experimented with viewing the places in standard view and satellite view and even learnt how to use the 3D view to get a real experience of the different locations. Next challenge was to find the letters of DBS hidden around the countries, cities and natural features of the world. Once a letter was spotted, the student took a screenshot and used Markup on their iPads to highlight the letters in DBS.

We were astonished by the creativity of our students and the variety of places visited that all, somehow, had features resembling DBS!
